Julia Testa at Fashion Week with W MagazineWednesday, September 30, 2015 8:09 am
One of our all-around favorite parts of the events we get to do is the new people we get to meet, get to know, or just be around. Fashion Week 2015 is one of the most fabulous and exciting weeks of the entire year. This year one of our events featured names like Mariah Carey, Leonardo diCaprio, Ciara, and Kelly Osborne, not to mention Naomi Campbell and Edward Enninful, fashion and style director for W magazine.
Being around this greatness, Julia and her team had no choice but to fangirl for a just a minute before getting down to business, but get down we did, and the event was absolutely huge, every bit as splashy as we dream about.
We got to work with Six Up Events to construct a lush, elegant event on the 64th floor of the Freedom Tower – the home of Conde Nast, keeper of media publications and enterprises. The blank canvas of the new lounge took our breath away before we even got to work with flowers and our hands: it featured sweeping views of the city, with wall-to-wall windows everywhere we looked. It was enough to make us dizzy. It was exactly the kind of venue over which we love to cast our artful eye.
We knew that in order to stand up against and enhance the beauty of the 64th floor, the flowers would have to be, in a word, huge. Working with Six Up Events, we decided on green and white as theme colors, and we went as big as we possibly could without going home. We constructed elaborate six-foot-tall arrangements that spoke sweetly and coolly of upper East Side elegance, featuring green hellebores entwined with camellia branches. From there, we added fragrant, natural eucalyptus pods, both Israeli and Italian ruscus, a whole cartload of angelic snow berries, and finally, lush, eye-catching white Tibet roses.
We’re still gushing over getting to decorate such an A-list event. What would you be the most excited to see at Fashion Week? Do you love our green and white theme? Gush with us in the comments section below!
