We’ve been sitting on this news for a little while, excited as we are, but the Julia Testa company has taken the next big step: we opened our very own storefront! We got it open at the end of November, and so far, it’s been an absolute dream come true.
We’re so excited to get to know you that we’re open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.! When you come to pay us a visit, come to 858 DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn. We can’t wait to show you around. Our new luxury storefront features floor-to-ceiling windows (we’re just swooning over all that natural light), as well as 1,000 square feet of retail space, including a walk-in cooler and five design tables: more than enough space to design your dreams! We’re absolutely in love with the space, with its giant graphic of our logo on the window and the custom-designed wallpaper – both designed by our graphic designer Valeria in Milan, Italy, and produced by our friends at Thinkbox Media here in New York. It already feels like coming home.
We chose the Bed-Stuy neighborhood because slowly but surely, it’s coming up, filling with families and businesses needing space (like yours truly!) The strong emphasis on community, as well as the burgeoning gentrification, made it the perfect place for Julia Testa to set up shop.
Needless to say, our new space made this Valentine’s Day very special for us…and wildly successful too! 85 of the hundreds of orders we’ve already filled this year were for Valentine’s Day, which is huge, because Valentine’s Day fell on a Sunday this year. Typically, guys like to send flowers to their Valentines at work, but apparently, the weekend timing didn’t stop them from placing orders with us and having them delivered on Friday.
Of those 85 orders, 75 went to make someone’s day in Manhattan, despite our brand-new Brooklyn address.
Of course, it takes more than a drop-dead gorgeous new storefront to celebrate a killer Valentine’s Day. We were so highly sought after this year because we took steps to make sure that our Valentine’s Day offerings were unique. Even though peonies aren’t in season, we carried beautiful, fragrant open blossoms sourced from Israel. We also stocked Ranunculus, 9 different colors of roses, spray roses, standard tulips, French tulips, parrot Tulips, peony-tulips, peony, the world-famous David Austin garden roses, 5 different color calla lilies, hyacinth, lilac, four different colors of hydrangeas, Cymbidium orchids, and exotic Phaelenopsis orchids.
Come visit us at our new storefront! We can’t wait to show you around.
