The People Behind the Magic

Maria
Shop Manager
Maria grew up in North Carolina and moved to New York on a whim after college. She started out in advertising but quickly realized she wanted something more creative and hands-on. After a little career exploring, she found JT—and never looked back. With early memories of helping out in her best friend’s flower shop, the floral world felt like home. Now, a few years in, she loves being surrounded by beauty, helping customers bring their ideas to life, and working with a team that keeps things fresh and fun every day.

Joanna
Events Coordinator
Originally from St. Louis, Joanna moved to New York to study Fine Arts and pursue something creative and meaningful. She brought her customer service skills and eye for design to JT, where flowers became the perfect medium for both. Outside of work, she’s a commercial dancer and choreographer—and whether it’s florals or movement, she’s all about creating moments that leave an impression.

Tess
Events Assistant
Tess moved to New York for school and stuck around for the creativity. She joined JT to be part of a team that makes things happen—and loves the people she gets to do it with. Off the clock, she unwinds with a paintbrush in hand.

Chantel
Floral Designer
Chantel doesn’t claim an exciting New York origin story—she just showed up, applied, and the rest was fate. Now, as a Floral Designer, she’s found her place among flowers and a floral community she loves. Outside of work, she’s usually watching basketball or scuba diving somewhere warm.

Dulce
Floral Designer
Dulce found her way to JT through Instagram and knew right away it was somewhere she wanted to be. As a Floral Designer, she loves the flowers—but it’s the people that make it really special. When she’s not at work, she’s usually out enjoying a walk through the neighborhood.

Luis
Floral Designer
Luis Angel was born in New York and loves the energy of the city. He joined JT for the positive vibes and strong sense of community—and he’s found his stride as a Floral Designer. He takes real pride in each arrangement he creates. When he’s not working, he’s all about relaxing at home and watching movies.

Cassy
Floral Designer
Cassy came to New York to chase a dance career, but after an injury and a bit of burnout, she found herself happily swept into the world of flowers. As a Floral Designer at JT, she loves pushing creative limits and making unexpected floral magic—especially with a team that makes every day fun. When she’s not designing, you’ll find her petting neighborhood dogs, curled up with a good book, or binge-watching a show with friends and family.

Kate
Floral Designer
Kate came to NYC excited by everything the city had to offer—and found herself inspired by bold, creative businesswomen like Julia. As a Floral Designer, she loves creating arrangements that bring joy and energy into homes all across the city. At home, she’s just as passionate about her own garden—especially her giant hydrangeas.

Nico
Shop Supervisor
Nico is part of the incredible team that keeps things running smoothly at JT. While we’re still gathering all the fun facts and favorite things, just know they’re bringing great energy and good work to everything they do. Stay tuned!

Shyrin
Customer Experience Manager
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Shyrin joined JT looking for a fresh challenge—something that would stretch her skills in new ways. As Customer Experience Manager, she’s all about building great relationships with clients (and dressing up while doing it). Outside of work, she’s most likely hosting a dinner, checking out a new café, or spending quality time with her niece and nephew—usually with a cookie in hand.

Cheyenne
Customer Service Lead
Cheyenne moved to New York to pursue a fine arts degree and found a perfect blend of creativity and connection at JT. With a background in customer service and a love for florals, leading the Customer Service team lets her bring both together. She loves solving problems, noticing the little things, and working alongside great people. Her downtime involves journaling, tending to her plants, and catching a good movie.

Rene
Delivery Driver
One day, Rene just showed up in New York—and he’s been making moves ever since. He joined JT on a whim and stuck around for the people. As a Delivery Driver, he brings great energy to the team. His free time is usually filled with soccer games or catching a wave surfing.

Ernesto
Floral Care Personnel
Ernesto came to NYC looking for a little adventure—and quickly found a new home he loves. A friend told him JT needed someone to care for the flowers, and it turned out to be the perfect fit. He’s all about the good vibes, great people, and having a good time every day. In the summer, he’s always at the beach or in the water; in the winter, he’s in full hibernation mode.

Derek
Floral Care Personnel
Derek grew up between NYC and New Jersey and came to JT on a friend’s recommendation—“it’ll be fun,” they said (they were right). As Floral Care Personnel, he appreciates how many different hands and roles it takes to bring each project to life. Outside of work, he’s into writing, movies, and playing bass guitar.

Daniel
Floral Care Personnel
Daniel moved to New York to be closer to family and ended up joining JT on a whim. Now, as part of the Floral Care team, he’s found a quiet joy in being surrounded by flowers every day. His favorite pastime? Simply hanging out with his daughter.

Mark
Shop Maintenance Personnel
Mark was born and raised in New York and found JT in the post-COVID shuffle—he’s been a key part of the team ever since. As Shop Maintenance Personnel, he’s all about the variety; no two days are the same, and that’s just how he likes it. On his days off, you’ll catch him placing a bet or making some extra rounds with Uber Eats.

Jordy
Shop Maintenance Personnel
Born and raised in New York, Jordy found JT on Craigslist—applied on a whim and never looked back. As part of the Shop Maintenance team, he loves getting to see so many corners of the city while out on installs and deliveries. After hours, he’s usually out on the town, making the most of city life.

Julia's Story
Julia's story began in college, designing wedding flowers from her mother’s kitchen, discovering how much joy she found in the process of bringing beauty to life through blooms. After graduating from Manhattan College with a degree in Marketing and Advertising during the 2008 recession, she entered the world of advertising. Her early work at agencies like PIVMO and D1INK taught her invaluable skills in outbound sales and client relationships—tools that would become critical in launching her own floral business.
Julia officially started her company from her apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, driven by a mix of creative ambition and sheer determination. She made cold calls, knocked on doors, and walked the city with sample arrangements—winning over local businesses and restaurants with her designs and personality. But what really fueled her was the creative process: designing custom florals that told stories, evoked emotions, and transformed spaces.
As demand grew, she sublet a small corner in a flower shop near the NYC Flower Market, owned by a kind family she knew from her high school years. When the volume of work outgrew that space, she took a leap and secured a small business loan. In 2016, she opened her own production studio in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn at 836 Dekalb Avenue—a space dedicated to floral artistry for weddings, corporate events, and large-scale installations.
From the beginning, Julia’s style has been defined by bold, lush arrangements and sophisticated color palettes. She brings a modern, editorial edge to her floral work—always prioritizing freshness, seasonality, and intentional design. Whether it's an intimate dinner or a massive brand activation, her goal is always the same: to create an unforgettable atmosphere through flowers.
Her commitment to design and storytelling has caught the eye of clients like the New York Stock Exchange, NBC Universal, Revlon, and Pepsi. Social media also played a vital role in her growth—Julia documented her floral journey nearly every day, turning her feed into a visual diary of beauty, process, and hustle.
In 2018, she opened her flagship retail store in SoHo. It was a huge financial risk—and nearly unsustainable in the beginning—but a last-minute, large-scale event for MAC Cosmetics helped keep the dream alive. That project gave her the runway to make it through the holiday season, and the store has been thriving ever since.
Now, more than a decade into business, Julia leads a talented, tight-knit team with exceptional retention and a shared love for creativity. The Brooklyn studio remains the engine behind large events and installations, while the SoHo store welcomes daily customers seeking beauty, gifting, and inspiration.
Julia still finds magic in the everyday details of floristry—selecting the perfect stem, balancing a palette, or transforming a raw space with texture and color. She believes flowers have power: to comfort, to celebrate, to express what words sometimes can't.
Beyond her business, Julia is a proud wife to Keith, mom to Patrick (3) and Jonathan (1), and stepmom to Olivia (11) and Collin (10). She commutes into Manhattan three days a week, works remotely on event sales and buying, and visits Brooklyn to stay close to production.
As a female founder, Julia has made sacrifices—but she’s also created a life she’s proud of. She believes you can have it all, as long as you stay connected to your purpose, trust your team, and always make space to stop and smell the roses.
